Course Description:
The course focuses on basic Spanish vocabulary, and use of visual cues and context to understand what is being said. Worksheets, textbooks, workbooks, flashcards will be used to learn new vocabulary and grammar. Additionally, we will take a look at the geography and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
Required Materials for this Course:
Grading:
Marking Period grades will be calculated as Follows:
Participation 35%
Classwork 35%
Quizzes 20%
Homework 10%
Homework Policies:
-Homework is practice to help reinforce and master content and must be completed in a timely manner to ensure student success.
-It is the responsibility of the student to write homework assignments in their agenda when assigned.
Make-Up Work & Assessments:
-It is the responsibility of the student to see Sra. Voight
for missed work immediately upon returning to school. It is expected that they will complete missing items by the next Spanish class. Special circumstances will be taken into consideration and must be discussed and approved by Sra. Voight.
Extra Help:
Morning help is available by appointment with an agenda SIGNED by Sra. Voight and verbal confirmation.
Behavior Expectations: A classroom atmosphere of mutual respect and tolerance is expected and anticipated. Students should know and
follow all classroom rules, school rules, and the Student Code of Conduct. Consequences may consist of warnings, phone calls home, loss of privileges, detention, or referral.
Classroom Procedures:
-Students are expected to be on time and in their seats
with the required materials for this course.
**If you come to class without a writing utensil, borrow
one before class starts. Do not wait until class has
begun as it will cause an unnecessary disruption.**
-Students will copy homework from the assignment board into their agendas at the beginning of class.
-If students forget their composition books, they must
write class notes on a lined piece of paper. It is the
student’s responsibility to make sure any notes
and papers are glued into their composition books.
